Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various types of sources that could power forklifts. They could run using liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many applications. There are some facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which could be changed out when the machine should be refueled.
In order to avoid potentially serious injury, specific precautions must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for example: be certain to put on the appropriate safety equipment such as goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Make sure that you turned off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize any kind of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by utilizing the hand.
