Engine of the Lift Truck - the forklift truck is designed with a power source at the back of the machinery. Various types of lift trucks have various types of engine that require varying power sources. Like for example, a forklift with an internal combustion engine could have any of the following as its source of power: LP gas, CNG gas, diesel or gasoline. Electric motor lift trucks receive their power from fuel cells or a battery.
Frame of The Truck - The truck frame is the base of the forklift and the most important of all the forklift parts. This forms the equipment's core. All other lift truck parts are attached to the base, including the wheels, axles, mast overhead guard and counterweight. Fuel and hydraulic fluid tanks can also be part of the frame assembly.
Counterweight Forklift Parts - While carrying heavy cargo, the counterweight enables the machine to be balanced. This particular component is cast iron and comes connected to the rear of the lift truck. The counterbalance balances the truck frame to prevent it from tipping over when a load is being carried or lifted on the front. The heavy lead-acid battery in an electric forklift gives balance and can function as part of the counterweight.
The Cab Area - The cab is also known as the operator compartment. Lift trucks will sometimes have closed cabs whilst others will be open to the air. There are many components situated within the cab for operating the forks. The cab has such important parts like for instance the levers, switches, steering wheel, operator controls, pedals and seats. The dashboard has operator readouts.
